IBSCI Meet the Team IBSCI the Irish business sales and corporate investment company's corporate headquarters are based in Dublin with a number of representatives based throughout Ireland. Collectively, the IBSCI team has extensive professional and industrial experience across a variety of sectors. We select our team members for each client engagement to ensure that the appropriate mix of skills and experience is available to suit that client's particular requirements. The key members of the IBSCI team include: Gerry Walsh Gerry has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from NUI, Galway. He also holds an LLB (Hons.) Law Degree from NUIG, and a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (ICM) from University of Limerick, where he obtained First Place in Corporate Policy project work. Gerry has worked in senior management positions in the newspaper printing and publishing industry since 1988 including general manager of Western People Ltd. (1988-1996), director of Western People Ltd. (1996-2001) and managing director of Sligo Weekender Ltd. (1996-2001). He has been part of the management team in the expanding Thomas Crosbie Holdings media group for over five years. The TCH group are constantly evaluating new opportunities and seeking acquisitions in the media industry. Gerry's vast experience and network of contacts in the media industry throughout Ireland and beyond will serve to keep IBSCI to the forefront, by ensuring our business and clients' interests receive maximum and appropriate exposure over a number of channels. CONTACT DETAILS   Eamonn Gaffney Eamonn has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Incorporated Public Accountants. Prior to joining IBSCI Eamonn had seven years experience at various levels in Accountancy Practice, including three years with KPMG in their Dublin office. He then moved to London to take up the post of Financial Controller and Deputy Managing Director of a Builders' Merchants firm. Eamonn spent ten years developing the company from a small family business to one of the largest Builders' Merchants firms in London. Eamonn then returned to Ireland to set up and manage a Service Company that performs Contract work for a large Drinks Company. He also holds the position of Financial Controller in this Service Company. Eamonn operates his own Financial Services Company specialising in Consultancy and Restructuring contracts in the Service, Garage and Forecourt Business. Derry Crowley Derry is a partner in the accountancy practice Crowley & McCarthy. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland. Derry qualified in 1991 and he worked in KPMG's Dublin office for three years where he specialised in tax advisory services. In early 1994 Derry returned to his native Cork where he established Crowley & McCarthy. This practice has expanded over the years and today it operates two offices, one in Cork city and the second in Clonakilty. Derry specialises in the provision of taxation services to personal and corporate clients. In addition to the core accountancy practice, Crowley & McCarthy operates an established regional business sales practice that specialises in assisting clients to buy and sell their businesses as going concerns. CONTACT DETAILS   Frank Cavanagh Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UCD. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in Ireland. After spending a number of years as chief accountant with a publicly quoted finance company, he set up in public practice. Along with the traditional range of services provided by an accounting firm, Frank's practice specialised into the raising of funds for SMEs, using the connections he had made in the banking world. His experience helped understand the position "from both sides of the table". After about ten years a sole practitioner, Frank went to merge his practice with that of former colleagues to establish the current practice where he is a senior partner. Here he specialises in business development, including business sales, acquisitions, & MBOs. He has carried out a number of adhoc projects including the structuring of a large outsourcing assignment whereby his firm now provides virtually the entire "back-office" facility for a major client. He has a significant network of contacts in the banking, accounting and legal professions. Through his many years in public practice, Frank has encountered many different types of business.
